      Pedestrian seriously injured after being hit by car

      SEATTLE -- A 26-year-old woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries Tuesday evening after being hit by a car while crossing Denny Way, according to the Seattle Police Department.

      According to police, a Nissan Pathfinder being driven by a 51-year-old man was heading south on Dexter Avenue around 7:30 p.m. The car reportedly struck the pedestrian while making a left turn onto Denny Way.

      The driver of the Nissan stayed at the scene and showed no signs of impairment, according to police.

      Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.
