Pedestrian hit by delivery driver, critically hurt in Everett
EVERETT, Wash. - A man is in critical condition after police say he was hit by a Papa John's Pizza delivery driver Saturday night.
The crash occurred in the 11700 block of Airport Road around 8:30 p.m.
Police say the pedestrian, 56-year-old Everett man, walked onto the road and was hit by the car.
The impact of the crash was so hard that it pushed the man through the windshield and into the vehicle's back seat.
Firefighters had to pry him out of the wreckage. He was then rushed to Providence Regional Medical Center.
The delivery driver, a 32-year-old Everett man, remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. Officers do not believe he was impaired.
Detectives are investigating to see if alcohol was a factor in why the pedestrian was in the road.
