Investigators say they believe two of the packets they called "bindles," each a little less than a quarter of an ounce, ruptured in her stomach. At the hospital Monday she began excreting more. Investigators said about 70 were counted over two days. A federal complaint said they looked like large marbles.
She was identified as 29-year-old Lavona Tashica Anderson. The complaint said she made a round trip from New York to the Dominican Republic before traveling to Portland bound for Alaska.
Police said she was released from the hospital Thursday and booked on drug trafficking charges.
Federal court documents showed no attorney for her.
