PORTLAND, Ore. - Authorities say an Oregon woman who went missing under mysterious circumstances has been found.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office says based on a tip, 23-year-old Demi Helenius was located at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in Roseburg, Oregon.

The Sheriff's Office issued a statement Wednesday saying she was determined to be safe and in good health:

“Ms. Helenius left on her own for personal reasons. When she was located, Ms. Helenius was found to be not in danger and in very good health. Though the manner in which she did it caused a lot of people (including us) much concern, we respect her privacy.”

Helenius' family reported her as missing when she never returned home after attending a self-improvement seminar at the Embassy Suites Hotel near the Portland airport on Saturday night.

The case got even stranger when Helenius' phone was given to a worker at a Dairy Queen in Creswell, Oregon, Saturday night by a man passing through the drive through.

Her car was later found in Cottage Grove, about 130 miles south of Portland on Interstate 5. Sheriff's officials said a “very cursory examination of the car at the scene found no foul play.”

The strange circumstances of her disappearance had baffled her family and investigators.
