Ore. students rescue bald eagle from Columbia River
NEAR ASTORIA, Ore. - Students in the Tongue Point Job Corps saved a bald eagle when they saw it flapping in the Columbia River.
The students were training out by the Astoria Megler Bridge when they saw the eagle in the water.
They scooped it up in a net and made a radio call to shore. They gave the bird to the Oregon State Police.
The students named the eagle "Salty."
