One man killed, another injured in Snohomish Co. car crash

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. --One man was killed and another was injured in a violent Friday evening car crash in Snohomish County.

Aaron Snell of the Everett police department said an Ocean Shores man in his 40s was heading northbound on SR-529 between Everett and Marysville when his vehicle hit a guard rail and rolled several times.

A passenger was thrown from the vehicle during the crash. That man died at the scene. The driver was taken to a local hospital, but Snell did not know his condition.

After the crash, the vehicle somehow ended up on all four wheels and the driver continued down the highway for roughly another third of a mile across a bridge, Snell said.

No other cars were involved in the crash, and police are still trying to determine what caused it. It's unclear if drugs or alcohol were involved or if the man was speeding.

Police closed northbound SR-529 at West Marine Drive while Everett police, Snohomish County sheriff's deputies and Washington State Patrol troopers investigated. Traffic was re-routed around the accident scene.
