Woman killed, teen injured in S. Everett shooting; juvenile detained for questioning
EVERETT, Wash. - A woman is dead and a teenager is injured after a shooting early Thursday morning at a South Everett mobile home park.
Police later said they are questioning a juvenile male in relation to the shootings.
Snohomish County sheriff's deputies responded to the Village Green Mobile Home Park in the 12600 block of East Gibson Road, at about 4:45 a.m. after receiving a 911 call about a burglary in progress and then a second 911 call reporting shots fired.
When medics and deputies arrived, they found two victims with gunshot wounds - a 54-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy.
The woman died at the scene. The teen survived the shooting and was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. Their names were not immediately released.
Witnesses reported that there were several suspects involved, possibly up to four. All fled the scene. Police units from several agencies conducted an extensive search of the area, but the suspects were not found.
The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office later said in a 12:35 p.m. Twitter posting that detectives have detained a juvenile male and are questioning him in relation to the deadly shooting.
The investigation continues.
