Officials investigate 4-vehicle collision in Edgewood
EDGEWOOD, Wash. -- Two people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries Wednesday night after a 4-vehicle collision in Edgewood.
According to East Pierce Fire and Rescue assistant chief Jim Jaquef, the crash happened about 5 p.m. on Meridian Avenue East and Dechaux Road East in Edgewood. The road has been closed to traffic.
The Pierce County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident as a possible DUI-related crash, according to detective Ed Troyer.
Troyer said a female driver reportedly caused the crash and that she fled the scene in a vehicle following the incident. Another individual reportedly followed her and was able to catch the driver after she got out of her car and ran, according to Troyer.
The driver is being uncooperative, Troyer said. Officials could not offer additional details at this time.
