Officers arrest man suspected in Capitol Hill sexual assault

SEATTLE -- Officers arrested a 20-year-old man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman Sunday night in a Capitol Hill alleyway.

According to the Seattle Police Department, the officers were driving in an alley near 12th Avenue and East Olive Street around 10:30 p.m. when two men walked past them from a nearby parking lot.

Soon after the men passed, a woman ran out of the parking lot and told officers one of the men had sexually assaulted her. According to police, the victim said she had met the two men near 12th and Olive and followed them to an alley, where she was attacked.

Officers found the suspect about a block away, and he was positively identified by the victim.

The suspect was arrested and booked into King County Jail for investigation of rape.
