Northbound I-405 reopens after 5-vehicle crash near Renton

RENTON, Wash. - All northbound lanes of Interstate 405 have reopened after a five-vehicle crash near NE 30th Street.

Troopers and medics responded the scene at about 1:10 p.m. Friday after receiving a report of a serious crash.

One of the vehicles rolled over in the collision. There were reports of multiple people injured.

All northbound traffic was diverted off the freeway at the scene for an hour after the accident. A six-mile backup had formed in both directions within a half-hour after the crash.

All lanes had reopened by 2:20 p.m.

The circumstances leading to the crash remain under investigation.
