Neighbors of Oso landslide complain of trespassers

OSO, Wash. (AP) - The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office is reminding people to keep out of the area devastated by the Oso landslide, after neighbors complained of trespassers.

The March 22 slide killed 43 people and covered a square mile in dirt and debris. The area is private property, and sheriff's officials say walking onto the site is considered trespassing. The unauthorized removal of items from the area is considered theft.

Clean-up efforts are still underway, and workers have permission to be there. Authorities are also asking drivers not to stop on the highway or pull off the roadway.
