Naked man hit by car while doing push-ups in Portland street

PORTLAND, Ore. - A man doing push-ups in the nude on North Columbia Boulevard Sunday morning was hit and killed by a passing car, police say.

Portland police first received a call at 4:04 a.m. reporting a naked man was running through traffic near North Columbia Boulevard and Portsmouth Avenue.

While police were on their way to the scene, they received a call stating that the naked man was now doing push-ups in the street.

Still en route, police received a third call reporting that the man had been struck by a vehicle.

The man died at the scene. Police have not released his name.

Detectives closed North Columbia Boulevard for several hours for further investigation of the incident, and say the driver who hit the man was cooperative, and hadn't been drinking.

An autopsy and toxicology report will be conducted by the medical examiner's office.
