Murder victim's body discovered in car outside Parkland home

PARKLAND, Wash. -- The body of an apparent murder victim was discovered in a car outside a Parkland home Friday morning, Pierce County Sheriff's officials said.

A woman called 911 around 7:30 to report a car outside her home in the 1200 block of 144th St. E that didn't belong there, and it appeared a man was sleeping inside, said department spokesperson Det. Sgt. Jerry Bates

Deputies arrived to find the body of a man in the car. Bates said the man died from "an apparent homicide" but investigators have not given an exact manner of death.

The body has been removed and the car has been impounded while detectives obtain a search warrant.

Updates to follow as more details become available.
