Mudslide victim readmitted to Seattle hospital

SEATTLE - A young mother who suffered two broken legs and a broken arm in the Oso mudslide is back in a Seattle hospital.

Amanda Skorjanc had been discharged on April 10 from Harborview Medical Center.

But a family friend says Skorjanc had a fever and was vomiting Monday night, so doctors ordered her to take an ambulance back to Harborview. The friend says Skorjanc now has an infection, and hospital spokeswoman Liz Hunter said Wednesday Skorjanc is in satisfactory condition.

Earlier, the 25-year-old Skorjanc told reporters how she held on to her baby as the March 22 mudslide destroyed their home. The 5-month-old boy, Duke Suddarth, also spent weeks in Seattle hospitals.
