Motorcyclist injured after police chase, crash near Poulsbo

POULSBO, Wash. - A motorcyclist had to be airlifted overnight after fleeing from police and crashing near Poulsbo, police said. A female passenger sustained minor injuries.

The incident started late Wednesday when officers tried to pull over the motorcycle for a traffic offense, said Poulsbo Police Chief Al Townsend.

The biker accelerated instead and led police on a chase up Highway 305. The pursuit ended when the motorcycle crashed on the highway between Liberty Road and Forest Rock Lane.

The motorcyclist was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious injuries.
