Aleesha Walker, 28, had faced a charge of first-degree murder in the death of Noah Walker. An autopsy revealed the boy's cause of death was likely smothering.
911 tapes revealed Walker called police and said she had killed her child.
"I murdered him. I hit his head on the dresser," Walker is heard telling the dispatcher. "I purposely tried to kill him."
When the dispatcher asked if the boy was breathing, Walker replied, "No, he's dead." She later said on the call voices in her head told her to hurt her child.
Officers and medics responded to her home in the 3600 block of South Thompson where they found the little boy.
"God knows what I did...I'm bad for doing what I did, I did it to the baby. He's gone," Walker reportedly told investigators at the scene.
The boy was transported to Mary Bridge Children's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Walker will be sentenced on Sept. 6 and faces anywhere from 10-18 years in prison.
