Service restored after outage knocks out power to more than 5,200 in North Seattle

SEATTLE - A large power outage left more than 5,200 customers in the dark in North Seattle for about two hours Tuesday night.

According to Seattle City Light, the outage began around 8:30 p.m. and is affected parts of the Hathorne Hills, Laurelhurst, Ravenna, Roosevelt and Windermere neighborhoods.

City Light said the outage was caused by a failed underground cable.

Crews repaired the damaged area and service was restored to those customers around 10:30 p.m.
