Missing Stanwood girl found safe; mother arrested

STANWOOD, Wash. -- A 13-year-old girl who was abducted by her mother was found safe early Wednesday, according to police.

Snohomish county sheriff's spokeswoman Shari Ireton said the girl was taken by her biological mother, who recently lost custody of the girl.

The girl's grandfather told police he dropped her off at home at around 3 p.m., but when her father got home from work at 6 p.m. she was gone.

The girl's mother, 31-year-old Trina K. Anderson, was found at a Denny's restaurant about 1 a.m., and her daughter was located at a nearby hotel.

Anderson was booked into jail for investigation of second-degree kidnapping.
