Missing 89-year-old woman found sleeping in garage

POULSBO, Wash. - An 89-year-old woman missing since Monday afternoon from an assisted living facility in Poulsbo has been found safe and sound.

The missing woman, Ladeana May Pershall, was found around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday sleeping on a couch in a garage of a home on NW Norfinn Lane in Poulsbo. She was discovered by the homeowner, who called 911.

Norfinn Lane is approximately one-third of a mile from Pershall's residence at Liberty Shores Assisted Living Center in Poulsbo.

Pershall was examined by medics from Poulsbo Fire Department and found to be in good health. She was re-united with her family to enjoy breakfast.

Police had earlier asked for the public's help in locating Pershall.

In addition, search-and-rescue teams with their dogs had been working throughout the night in their efforts to locate the missing woman. One of the teams was two houses away from the residence on Norfinn Lane when Pershall was discovered by the homeowner.
