Minister accused of child molestation spotted in Pacific County

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Police are searching for a former minister from Minnesota who's wanted on 59 counts of child molestation, and they think he may be in Washington state.

Victor Barnard has been on the run since April 11, when a warrant was issued for his arrest in connection with a years-long investigation into child molestation. Investigators say the 52-year-old molested a number of children while ministering to a religious group in Northern Pine County, Minnesota.

Barnard was last known to be in the Spokane area, but Washington State Patrol officials say they received a "credible tip" that Barnard was at a Raymond McDonald's on Wednesday. Troopers say Barnard was heading toward Aberdeen driving a dark blue Audi two door with tinted windows and a spoiler.

Investigators now believe Barnard has been in the Raymond and Aberdeen areas for the last week. A witness spotted him in his car -- which was described as looking like a Porsche -- with a female passenger, according to WSP.

The Pine County Sheriff's Office is coordinating with the State of Washington and Homeland Security for the apprehension of Barnard. Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911.
