Mercer Island middle school evacuated after bomb threat

MERCER ISLAND, Wash. - Islander Middle School on Mercer Island has been evacuated after receiving a bomb threat, school district officials said.

All students at the school are reported to be safe.

Parents of students at the school are being asked to pick them up at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center, 8236 SE 24th St.

Parents are advised to bring a photo identification with them.

Mercer Island School District has been plagued by threats this academic year. Mercer Island High School in particular has had three student-initiated threats at the school in the past few weeks, officials said in late December.
