Marijuana-related refrigerator explosion causes serious damage
SEATTLE -- A Seattle resident's refrigerator exploded Monday night for marijuana-related reasons, causing serious damage to his Lake City home but no injuries, according to the Seattle Police Department.
According to police, officers and the Seattle Fire Department were called to a home in the 3000 block of Northeast 135th Street around 9:30 p.m. for reports of an explosion.
Officers arrived to find the 37-year-old refrigerator exploded, four windows blown out and the rear wall of the home moved 3 inches.
According to police, the resident confirmed officers' suspicions that the explosion was an unfortunate and unintended result of the resident extracting THC from marijuana.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
