Man wounded during gun battle in South Seattle

SEATTLE - A rolling gun battle in South Seattle Sunday evening left a man wounded, Seattle police said.

Two cars were traveling in the 5600 block of Rainier Ave. S. just after 7 p.m. when those inside started shooting at each other, police said.

A passenger in one car was seriously wounded, and as that car tried to flee the scene, it lost control and crashed into a bus shelter.

The driver and wounded passenger eventually escaped the scene in another car, Seattle police said.

The two eventually arrived at Harborview where the wounded victim is now receiving medical treatment.

Detectives are still investigating the scene and looking for the shooters. If you have any information, you're asked to contact Seattle police.
