Man, woman found dead after murder-suicide in Lakewood
LAKEWOOD, Wash. - A woman and man were found dead of gunshot wounds after a reported murder-suicide at a Lakewood home, police said.
Officers responded to the scene, in the 8800 block of Rose Road SW, at about 5 p.m. Friday after receiving a 911 call about the shootings, said Lt. Chris Lawler of the Lakewood police.
A 24-year-old woman was found dead at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds. A 23-year-old man was found with a single gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to the hospital, where he died.
The two were in a relationship. Lawler said there had been no prior domestic violence calls at the home.
The home where the shootings took place belongs to the man's mother. She returned home from an errand and found them with gunshot wounds, Lawler said.
The woman has two young children who were not at the home at the time of the shootings. Both children are now in the custody of the man's mother.
