Man suspected of choking woman, stealing her phone arrested
SEATTLE -- Police have arrested an 18-year-old man suspected of attacking a woman and stealing her cellphone Thursday afternoon in the Central District.
According to the Seattle Police Department, the victim was using her cellphone around 3:30 p.m. at 20th Avenue and East Madison Street when the suspect put her in a chokehold and took the phone from her hand.
The suspect ran off, and the victim used a bystander's cellphone to call 911.
According to police, the suspect led officers on a brief chase and was eventually arrested.
The suspect reportedly still had the victim's cellphone on him, as well as another possibly stolen cellphone.
