Man shot in legs, buttocks during fight outside Westlake bar

SEATTLE - A man was shot in the legs and buttocks early Saturday during a fight outside a bar in the Westlake neighborhood, police said.

Officers were sent to the 700 block of Westlake Avenue North at about 2 a.m. after receiving reports of a fight there. On their way to the scene, the officers got updates that there were shots fired at the same bar, said Patrick Michaud of the Seattle police.

Witnesses described a car of people leaving the area who they believed were involved in the fight. Witnesses were unsure where the gunshots came from.

Officers were able to stop the car and speak with an occupant who said they heard the shots but didn't see anything. Meanwhile, detectives found five shell casings at the scene of the shooting, Michaud said.

Later in the morning, a man arrived at Harborview Medical Center with two gunshot wounds to the leg and buttocks.

The shooting victim told detectives he saw a fight, and then heard and felt the shots.
