Man pleads not guilty to setting NYE fire at crowded Seattle club

SEATTLE -- The 30-year-old Bellevue resident suspected of setting fire to a crowded Seattle club on New Year's Eve pleaded not guilty to arson during a hearing Tuesday.

Musab Musmari, who was arrested earlier this month while he was reportedly on the way to the airport with a one-way ticket to Turkey, is being held on $1 million bail and is due back in court March 5.

According to police, someone poured gasoline on the stairs at Capitol Hill gay club Neighbors and set them on fire while there were approximately 750 people inside.

The fire was quickly put out, and no one was hurt.

The subsequent investigation, including surveillance video, led police to Musmari.
