Man gets 8 1/2 months in jail for shooting Mason County bar owner
SPENCER LAKE, Wash. - A man who shot and injured a Mason County bar owner last March was sentenced Monday to 8 1/2 months in jail.
The sentence against Paul Olafsen, 65, was handed down in Mason County Superior Court after he pleaded guilty to second-degree assault with a deadly weapon, said Deputy Prosecutor Jason Richards. Olafsen will get credit for time already served.
Police reports say Olafsen shot Larry Lawrence, the owner of the Spencer Lake Bar & Grill, on the morning of March 15, 2017. The shooting took place at the bar, located about seven miles northeast of Shelton on East Pickering Road.
Deputies arrested Olafsen when they arrived on scene.
A Kiwanis meeting was going on in a neighboring room at the time of the shooting.
