      Man attacked with ax shortly before kickoff Sunday

      WENATCHEE, Wash. -- Shortly before kickoff Sunday, a 27-year-old Wenatchee man attacked another man with an ax for unknown reasons, according to the Wenatchee Police Department.

      According to police, Shawn Drummond attacked the 32-year-old victim around 2:45 p.m. in the 200 block of North Delaware Street.

      The victim was taken to Central Washington Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

      Drummond was found by police a few blocks from the attack and arrested for investigation of assault.

      Police are continuing to investigate the motivation for the attack.
