Man arrested for investigation of Shoreline hit-and-run
SHORELINE, Wash. -- A 45-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for investigation of felony hit-and-run after a stranded motorist was critically injured Sunday on Interstate 5 near Shoreline, according to Washington State Patrol.
The victim, 43-year-old Joaquin Gauna, remains in critical but stable condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to State Patrol.
Investigators believe someone driving a blue, 2003 Honda Element drifted to the shoulder of the southbound lane on I-5 on Sunday and hit Gauna when he was standing behind his disabled vehicle.
Troopers were able to contact the home of the registered owner of the Honda. From there, they were able to interview the car owner, 45-year-old Michael Rodenburg.
Rodenburg was arrested Tuesday and booked into King County jail.
