Man arrested in connection with high-seas crime spree
THURSTON COUNTY, Wash. -- A 32-year-old Boston Harbor resident has been arrested in connection with a series of pirate-esque crimes that took place recently on Thurston County waters.
According to the Thurston County Sheriff's Office, a homeowner in the Fishtrap area of Dana Passage on Puget Sound got into a fight with Shanon Meadors when he caught Meadors trying to steal an outboard motor.
Meadors punched the victim and hit him multiple times with an oar before escaping in an inflatable boat equipped with an outboard motor, according to the Sheriff's Office.
While Meadors failed to secure his booty in that incident, he is also reportedly behind the theft of a gun and camping supplies from a boat moored near Otis Beach on Johnson Point. According to the Sheriff's Office, Meadors also stole a 12-foot aluminum boat and its contents from the same area.
After deputies arrested Meadors, they recovered a number of pieces of stolen property, according to the Sheriff's Office. But, the aluminum boat is still missing.
