Logging truck driver killed in Thurston County crash

THURSTON COUNTY, Wash. -- A logging truck driver was killed Monday afternoon when his truck went off the road and flipped over in a remote area of Thurston County.

Washington State Patrol troopers are investigating the crash, which happened sometime after 4 p.m. on a Forest Service road near Summit Lake.

Troopers say the driver ran off the road and hit a stump, which caused the truck to flip. The driver, who was the only person in the truck, died at the scene.

There's no word yet on what caused the crash.
