The hunt eventually was called off, however, and the lockdowns were lifted, said Shari L. Ireton of the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.
The incident began at about 9:4o a.m. in the 4400 block of 230th Place SE near Bothell, when a homeowner interrupted a burglary in progress.
The burglar fled in a black Audi, colliding with a motorcycle rider in the 4300 block of 229th Place SE. The suspect then abandoned the car in the 18400 block of 59th Avenue SE, fleeing on foot along a power line maintenance road.
Police later called off the search, saying they believed the suspect had fled the area on a bicycle.
The motorcycle rider struck by the suspect reported no injuries and did not require medical aid.
The suspect has been identified using images taken during the attempted burglary and is believed to be a 37-year-old Everett man, Ireton said. His name was not immediately released.
