Last body from Oso mudslide officially identified

EVERETT, Wash. (AP) - The last body found in the Oso, Washington, mudslide has been officially identified as the 43rd victim.

The Snohomish County medical examiner's office said Wednesday it has completed the examination and identification of 44-year-old of Kris Regelbrugge (reg-el-BREW'-gee).

The office says she died of multiple blunt force injuries.

She was at home with her husband when their house was one of dozens buried in the March 22 mudslide. The body of Navy Cmdr. John Regelbrugge III was one of the 42 recovered earlier.

The active search for victims ended in April, but workers screening debris Tuesday found her body in an area where personal items belonging to the Regelbrugge family had been found.
