Kent police: Missing vulnerable woman found, returned home

KENT, Wash. - Police have found a developmentally disabled 38-year-old woman who has been missing for more than a week.

Emilie Lorraine Zangara, who is described as "vulnerable" and needs daily doses of medication, had been missing since the evening of Aug. 9, said Detective Melanie Frazier of the Kent police. It has been reported that she has the mental capacity comparable to a young teenager.

Zangara was found Monday after she called her caseworker for a medication appointment at about 4 p.m. The caseworker then contacted police, who located her and returned her to her home.

She is no longer considered endangered, said Detective Melanie Frazier of the Kent police.

Before Sangara was found, her family said they believed she might be in the company of a 43-year-old transient, but Frazier said she had no information about whether Zangara was with anyone when she was found.
