Jogger attacked, robbed near Magnuson Park
SEATTLE -- A man out for a run near Magnuson Park on Saturday was attacked and robbed by three teenagers, according to the Seattle Police Department.
According to the police report for the incident, the victim ran past the teens near Sand Point Way Northeast and Northeast 70th Street around 10:45 p.m. Shortly after passing them, the victim was hit in the back of the head and fell to the ground.
The victim got up and was confronted by one of the teens, who demanded the cellphone the victim had been using to listen to music, according to the report.
The victim later told officers the suspect punched him in the face and he handed over his phone.
According to the report, the suspects were last seen running off toward a nearby apartment complex.
While the incident is similar to a string of serial robberies being investigated by the Seattle Police Department, the victim told officers the teen who demanded his phone did not speak with an accent.
