Intoxicated man dies hours after growling at cops, ranting about Jesus
KENT, Wash. - An intoxicated man who jumped from a third story window, growled at police and then ranted incoherent statements about Jesus was arrested Sunday and then died at a local hospital.
Officers responded around 1 a.m. to reports of a domestic dispute, Jarod Kasner with the Kent Police Department said.
Family members told officers that their father, 40, was intoxicated and acting strange. They said he had grabbed two young children and went to a third story window where he threatened to jump off.
Family members were able to get the kids away from him and call 911. The man ended up jumping from the window before police arrived on scene.
Officers arrived and found the man in a nearby vacant apartment where they say he growled at them and ranted incoherent statements about Jesus.
The officers arrested him without incident.
Shortly after his arrest, the man exhibited medical complications. Medics on the scene tended to him and then sent him to a local hospital for further treatment.
The man died later Sunday morning at the hospital, Kasner said.
His cause of death was not immediately clear. The Medical Examiner's Office is working to determine his cause of death.
