Injured man walks off after smashing car into power pole in Monroe
MONROE, Wash. - Police say a man with significant injuries walked off after smashing his car into a power pole early Saturday morning.
Crews found the man, in his 30s, below a 100-foot embankment a little after 3 a.m. The car, a black sedan, was found crumpled around a power pole in the 20500 block of Old Owen Road.
Crews says the pole was sheared off and wires were strewn across the roadway.
Neighbors report seeing the driver walk away from the accident. Authorities stabilized the man and removed him from the embankment.
He was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center.
It is unclear if alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision. The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
