Crews save injured hiker in 17-hour rescue mission
SNOQUALMIE PASS, Wash. - A hiker who took a bad fall on the Mason Lake trail in the Cascades is recovering at Harborview Medical Center.
Rescuers say the 56-year-old Seattle man has life-threatening injuries.
It took 65 rescuers at least 17 hours to get to man and carry him safety Sunday morning.
The Mason Lake trail is off Interstate 90 between Issaquah and North Bend. The King County Sheriff's Office says crews could not rely on a helicopter due to fog.
Searchers also spent the night searching for two other hikers on Granite Mountain. The hikers were located around 12 a.m. Sunday morning, the King County Sheriff's Office said.
No injuries were reported.
