I-5 police pursuit ends with crash in Snohomish County

LYNNWOOD, Wash. - A 23-year-old Seattle woman was arrested Thursday night after leading deputies on a chase up Interstate 5 then crashing her car, officials said.

The incident began at about 9:30 p.m. when a sheriff's deputy witnessed the woman make a drug sale in the 14800 block of Highway 99 in Lynnwood, said Shari L. Ireton of the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.

As the deputy approached the woman, she fled in her vehicle. The deputy then jumped back into the patrol car and pursued her to the freeway, then up I-5.

As the woman pulled off the freeway at the 128th Street exit, she crashed into another vehicle on the I-5 northbound freeway off ramp, causing significant damage to both vehicles and minor injuries.

Deputies detained the woman and learned she had several warrants, including a felony no-bail warrant. She was arrested and booked into Snohomish County Jail.
