House fire reveals large pot grow-op in S. Seattle

Police discovered an extensive marijuana grow operation - from 50 to 200 plants - after firefighters knocked down a house fire just off of Seward Park Avenue South Wednesday morning.

Flames were shooting 10 feet above the roof of the house when firefighters arrived around 7:30 a.m. But, they got the fire under control fast.

When firefighters did a safety search of the home, no one was there.

Kyle Moore with the Seattle Fire Department suggests the house may have been wired to conceal the illegal activity.
