Homicide investigation launched after man's body found on roadside in Lacey
LACEY, Wash. - Police have launched a homicide investigation after a man's body was found Sunday morning alongside a road in Lacey.
Sgt. Jaime Newcomb of the Lacey police says the man has a traumatic head wound and investigators believe he was shot in the head.
Officers responded to the scene, in the 7000 block of 14th Avenue SE, at about 7:15 a.m. after a 911 caller reported seeing a dead man lying in the brush along the side of the road.
Investigators said the body is that of a 28-year-old man who had an out-of-state driver's license. They are now trying to locate a local address for him.
It's not yet known whether the man was killed there or dumped.
No suspects have been yet been identified.
Newcomb said detectives will be at the scene for most of the day as the investigation continues.
