Have you seen this suspected Bremerton robber?
BREMERTON, Wash. -- The Bremerton Police Department is looking for a man suspected of robbing a resident at gunpoint early July 2.
According to police, the victim was walking to work in the 100 block of Montgomery Avenue when 20-year-old Lewis Thomas stole his backpack and cellphone.
Police identified Thomas as the suspect based on the description from the victim, security camera footage and a canvass of the neighborhood.
According to police, a number of the stolen items, as well as the clothing Thomas wore during the robbery, were found in a residence in the 1500 block of Olympic Avenue July 15.
A warrant has been issued for Thomas' arrest, but police are warning residents not to approach him, as it's possible he is armed.
Thomas recently moved to Bremerton from Louisiana and may be going back, according to police.
"Somebody knows where Thomas is located," Bremerton Police Chief Steve Strachan said in a press release. "We want to get him off the street as quickly as possible."
