EDMONDS, Wash. -- The Edmonds Police Department is looking for a felon described by the ATF as an armed career criminal, for allegedly punching a woman in the face and stealing her purse June 11.
Following an investigation into the robbery that took place in the 22900 block of 76th Avenue West, police have identified Matthew Propst as the suspect and have probable cause to arrest him.
According to police, Propst is a violent offender with a warrant out for escaping the Department of Corrections. He has prior convictions for manslaughter, robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Propst was last seen staying in the Mountlake Terrace area and in south Everett.
Officers arrested a 39-year-old Lynnwood resident who was reportedly with Propst during the robbery immediately after the incident. But, it was Propst who punched the woman and took her purse, according to police.
