Gut-shot man dropped off at Harborview; witness sees suspect with silver gun
SEATTLE - Police are investigating after a man was dropped off at the hospital with two gunshot wounds Sunday evening and a witness saw a suspect with a silver gun.
The incident unfolded just before 8 p.m. when staff members at Seattle's Harborview Medical Center reported that a man had been dropped off there with two gunshot wounds to the abdomen, said Detective Patrick Michaud of the Seattle police.
The 29-year-old victim was in surgery and unable to answer questions, but the man who dropped him said he picked up the victim in the 1400 block of South Lane Street, in Seattle's Atlantic neighborhood, and drove him to the hospital.
Meanwhile, officers investigating a report of shots fired in the same area where the victim was picked up interviewed a witness who said he saw a man walking out of a nearby wooded area carrying a silver handgun.
The witness said the man was wearing a large puffy coat and walking towards Jose Rizal park. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate a crime scene or a possible suspect, Michaud said.
Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact the Seattle Police Department's homicide-assault tip line at (206) 233-5000.
