Gunshot victim found block away from Southwest Precinct

SEATTLE -- Officers didn't have far to go to find a victim after hearing a gunshot just south of the Southwest Precinct late Wednesday night.

According to the Seattle Police Department, officers heard a shot fired shortly after 11:30 p.m. and soon received a report of a gunshot victim in the 7500 block of 24th Avenue Southwest, a block away from the precinct.

A resident told officers they heard someone knock on their door and opened it to find a 37-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his ankle.

According to police, the victim was uncooperative with officers and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The shooting took place only minutes after another shooting Wednesday night.
