Former teacher pleads guilty to child pornography charges

TACOMA, Wash. -- A former tutor, Boy Scout volunteer and Tenino Elementary School teacher pleaded guilty to possessing 650 images and 45 videos of child pornography Friday and now faces between four and 20 years in prison.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, 47-year-old James Mobley, who was arrested last January, will undergo psycho-sexual evaluation and sexual-deviancy treatment and will register as a sex offender as part of his plea.

While both prosecution and defense are recommending Mobley receive a four-year prison sentence, the judge could still sentence him to up to 20 years in prison.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, an investigation into Toronto-based, which calls itself a provider of "naturist films" but actually distributes child pornography, led police and investigators to Mobley.

Company records show Mobley purchased child pornography from multiple times between February 2009 and January 2011, and police seized files and DVDs containing child pornography from Mobley's home, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

The investigation into has led to the arrest of 348 people and the rescue of 386 children.

Mobley is scheduled to be sentenced in March.
