Former King County deputy arrested, accused of a host of crimes

SEATTLE -- A former King County sheriff's deputy was arrested Monday morning at his Bothell home on suspicion of theft, possession of stolen property, tampering and possession of a controlled substance.

The 33-year-old former deputy, who has not been named, resigned in lieu of termination last month, according to the King County Sheriff's Office.

Monday's arrest came as a result of an unrelated internal investigation into allegations that the man was using "government computer systems to access information contrary to policy," according to deputies.

Charges have not yet been filed against the former deputy and the investigation is ongoing.
