The incident began at 8:30 a.m. when someone called the King County Sheriff's office to report a man stealing alcohol from a Safeway store near SeaTac, said Sgt. Cindi West.
About 15 minutes later, a deputy spotted a car driving recklessly and running a stop sign in the Riverton area.
The deputy tried to pull the driver over, but the driver sped off, eventually ending up on a dead-end street near S. 134th St. and 22nd Ave. South.
"He tried to make a U-turn, struck a pole then struck the deputy's car," West said.
The driver tried to run but was captured by the deputy a few blocks away. No one was hurt.
"It's a good ending, nobody got hurt, and we got a bad guy off the street," West said.
West said the man had previous warrants out for his arrest and a suspended license from eluding police.
"This guys is not a stranger to running from the police," West said.
