Dump truck hits, kills pedestrian on Redmond-Fall City Road
REDMOND, Wash. -- A fatal crash between a dump truck and a pedestrian Tuesday afternoon blocked both directions of state Route 202 in Redmond, according to the Washington State Patrol.
A female was reportedly walking eastbound on the shoulder of SR 202, also known as Redmond-Fall City Road, when she veered into the roadway and was hit and killed, according to trooper Rick Johnson with State Patrol.
The dump truck, also going eastbound, reportedly tried to avoid her but hit the pedestrian with the right front fender, Johnson said.
It is unclear if the victim was an adult or a minor.
According to Washington State Department of Transportation, the incident happened at 218th Avenue Northeast near Sahalee Way.
Both directions of SR 202 are now reopened.
